For job seekers, the program provides

- vocational counseling
- information regarding sources of employment
- individualized training
- pre-employment preparation including in-class modules and practical work experiences
For the potential employer, the program provides:
- access to a pool of quality employment candidates
- pre-screening of potential employment candidates and their skills
- time and money saved in recruitment costs
- reduced training costs
- highly loyal and motivated employees
- supervised on-the-job training
- seasonal/part-time/casual employees
An employment support coordinator/coach will provide on-the-job training, assistance and evaluation where needed to facilitate the person’s transition into the community work force.
The Job Readiness Program offers a twenty-five week program designed to prepare people for competitive employment. The program is set up for three sessions. Each session involves four weeks of in-class training and four weeks of work experience with employers in the community. Each individual experiences three different types of jobs during work experience placement.
These programs operate in Barrie, Orillia and surrounding areas. Each program is accessed through the Intake process.
