by JP Muldoon | Jul 25, 2016
Simcoe Community Services (SCS) has appointed Bill Silk as our new CEO. Bill has had a long and distinguished career with the Ministry of Community and Social Services and has served for over seventeen years as our Director of Human Resources.

Bill Silk, Simcoe Community Services CEOIt is with great pleasure that I take this opportunity to announce that Simcoe Community Services (SCS) has appointed Bill Silk as our new CEO effective immediately. Bill has had a long and distinguished career with the Ministry of Community and Social Services and has served for over seventeen years as our Director of Human Resources. He is a native son of Barrie and Simcoe County and exemplifies our focus as a community based organization.

The SCS Board of Directors recognizes that we have a part to play in the Provincial and Federal arena where it applies to the Developmental Service Sector however, our primary focus and the main thrust of the duties of our CEO lie within our own local community and no one understands this better than Bill Silk.

Simcoe Community Services provides service and supports to children and adults in Simcoe County and we are totally committed to continuing to be the leaders in that effort. We are responsible for the Early Years Program that continues to expand and develop under the leadership and direction of our new CEO. In addition, we provide community based supports to the homeless in Simcoe County.

I ask that the people we support, our staff, community partners, The City of Barrie and Orillia, MCSS, MCYS, The Ministry of Education, the County of Simcoe, OASIS, Community Living Ontario and all of Bill’s many friends, colleagues and associates extend to him a hearty congratulations on his appointment as our new CEO.

We are very proud of Bill Silk, CEO Simcoe Community Services.

Sincerely,

David Barber

President
