Barrie Housing Support Services
A housing registry co-sponsored by Simcoe Community Services and the Canadian Mental Health Association. It offers a free housing registry, landlord/tenant mediation, and short term support to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, as well as information about and referrals to other community resources including the County’s Housing Retention Fund and Emergency Energy fund.
A preliminary screening of both prospective tenants and landlords assists in determining an appropriate match. Follow up support is available to ensure that housing is maintained. Barrie Housing Support Services is a member of the Simcoe County Alliance to End Homelessness, an alliance of approximately 70 agencies dedicated to reducing the homelessness in Simcoe County.
